Editing - Narrative

We are now at a stage where, since we are still waiting to film the performance part of our video, we have decided to begin editing the narrative clips. From looking at the clips we have from our filming, we are quite happy with the how they have turned out with the only problem being that we have to try and make sure we don't have too much footage. As a result, time has been spent putting the clips in the right order so that the narrative element makes as much sense as possible and so that our audience stay engaged. We found when editing that sometimes we had filmed a few takes of the same shot. Although this obviously we had too much footage, it was important that we did this as it meant that in some cases, we were allowed a choice as to what takes we preferred. In the case of the clips being too long, we managed to cut them down in most cases fairly easily due to some of the footage either being unnecessary or not as good as other takes.
